About Fiona

Fiona is CEO of Barts Charity which is one of Europe’s largest health foundations. Barts has £0.5 bn investment and commercial property portfolio and a £40m p.a. philanthropic programme which invests in transformational medical research and innovation in clinical delivery to improve the health of the people of East London. Much of Barts’ portfolio has a broader national and international impact.

Fiona is Chair of Baronsmead Venture Trust plc, which focuses on investing in early stage and growth businesses in the UK. She is a Trustee for John Lyons Charity and Chair of Lifting Limits; both are organisations helping to support young people through education. She also sits on the Barts Life Sciences Advisory Board which is driving a transformational development of Whitechapel.

Fiona’s early career was in finance and private equity, and she then was CEO of three growth businesses which she grew and sold creating economic and social value.  Fiona was Director at Social Finance from 2012-2016 where she led their enterprise advisory work supporting third sector organisations to raise capital and scale.
