About Matt
Matthew joined Better Society Capital's Investment Team in 2026 as Investment Director, focusing on social property investments to increase the supply of high-quality, affordable homes across the UK.
Prior to joining, Matthew spent ten years in institutional real estate investment across the UK, Europe and the US, with a focus on housing. Most recently, he oversaw investments and developments at The Crown Estate, and previously led large-scale acquisitions and portfolio management at Welltower, the largest US housing REIT. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and an MSc in Real Estate Investment from Bayes Business School.
Matthew is motivated by using institutional investment expertise to address the UK's housing crisis.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys mentoring, and previously served as a Board Fellow advising Opus Dance Theatre Harlem, an arts and education non-profit serving 3,000 young people annually. He has lived and worked in Europe, Asia and North and South America.
