About Rebecca
Rebecca is Managing Director, Head of Investment Management, where she helps lead how Better Society Capital invests and manages its capital.
She holds several non-executive roles, including as a Co-opted Member of both the City of London Corporation’s Investment Committee and Trust for London’s Investment Committee, and a Non-Executive Director at Charity Bank.
She believes continuous learning is essential to the integrity and growth of impact investing to further improve outcomes for people and the natural environment. She is the Founding Chair and a co-author of the CFA UK Certificate in Impact Investing, the world’s first dedicated professional qualification in this field, developed in collaboration with a global group of practitioners. She also teaches impact investing and social enterprise to postgraduates as an Industrial Professor at UCL. She previously served on the Impact Investing Institute’s Learning Panel.
Rebecca brings together Better Society Capital’s “trilingual” approach with experience across the financial, public and third sectors. Before joining the organisation in 2015, she worked in charities and within the UK Government, developing policy in areas such as green finance, low-income workers, and community assets. She was seconded to asset manager M&G to support the creation of its impact investing strategy and design and launch of Catalyst, a £5 billion global private markets mandate focused on broad impact.
She is a CFA Charterholder, holds the CFA Sustainable Investing Certificate and earned an MSc in International Development with Distinction from SOAS, where she specialised in the role of social enterprises in addressing poverty in emerging markets.
