About David

David joined Better Society Capital in 2017 as CFO with responsibility for the delivery of effective support through leadership of the Finance, Legal/Compliance, People & Talent, IT, Data & Portfolio and Business Support teams. From mid-2024 David has been one of our Senior Advisors providing support on a range of project matters. David is currently on secondment to BSC’s sister organisation Fair4All Finance.

Prior to joining BSC, David was CFO at Lewis Silkin LLP, a leading professional services firm, and previously held a number of senior financial leadership roles at Eversheds LLP and Laird Plc, a FTSE 250 technology business. Earlier in his career David spent nine years at CDC Group as an Investment Manager growing and managing a portfolio of impact investments in several African countries and until recently was a member of the CDC Alumni Steering Group. David started his career with PWC and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a graduate of Exeter University.

David currently holds board governance roles with Opportunity International UK, the Commonwealth Secretariat and St Paul’s Cathedral and is also Chair of a successful Community Sports organisation.
