The challenge
A social housing shortfall is resulting in over 170,000 children living in temporary accommodation in England, the highest figure since records began. There is also an increasing number of older people who need care and suitable housing in the UK.
Meanwhile, building new homes has become increasingly challenging due to rising costs and a housing association sector under pressure to focus its resources on improving existing stock.
Our approach
We invest in social property funds that aim to attract institutional capital at scale to unlock new, affordable housing supply.
The fund
The fund invests in social and affordable rented and shared ownership housing in the UK via an open-ended structure. With an embedded impact framework and a focus on sustainable investment, the fund is targeting areas with the greatest need to provide high quality homes.
