The challenge
The UK faces a significant shortage of affordable homes, with an estimated investment of £250 billion needed by 2031 to address this shortfall.
Our approach
BSC invests into best-in-class social property funds capable of attracting institutional capital at scale to unlock new, affordable housing supply.
The Fund
The Fund seeks to increase the supply of affordable housing in the UK by developing new properties and purchasing new properties from developers. Properties are then leased to Housing Associations (HA’s) and Councils on terms between 9 and 40 years. The Fund aims to form partnerships with HA’s and Councils early in the property development process and develop schemes that meet organisational and tenant needs. The fund will deliver affordable and social rent, as well as shared ownership homes, with a target of 70% affordable housing.
