The challenge
There is an increasing number of people with a learning disability who need care and suitable housing in the UK. Many of those who already receive care are in inadequate and expensive accommodation outside of their communities, despite the clear and longstanding evidence that living independently with support in the community has a positive impact on health and well-being.
Our approach
Resonance has co-developed this fund, working with housing and care providers, Reside Housing Association and United Response. Key aspects are the person-centred approach to sourcing and adapting properties, co-designed lease agreements, and sharing the risk between fund and provider.
The Fund
The Fund will buy, refurbish and adapt residential properties which will then be leased to supported housing providers within the sector. Lease payments provide investors with an annual yield, who also benefit from any capital appreciation on the value of the properties.
