HR Business Partner – People Management Development

  • The opportunity

    Following a review of our People & Talent team, we are recruiting for a HR Business Partner with a specialism in People Management Development on a six month fixed term contract.

    This is an exciting new role at Better Society Capital to help us consolidate our great people line managers, refresh the current training model and help us be prepared as we refresh our strategy for 2026-30, building on what we have learnt since we started our impact investing journey in 2012. Our team comes from a wide range of backgrounds, and are driven by transforming the way mainstream financial markets help deliver deep and lasting impact on people in the UK.

  • What you will do

    • Collaborate with the People and Talent team and wider leadership team, to define and communicate the BSC way of People Management
    • Own and implement key People Management initiatives in alignment with the business plan, ensuring development supports BSC goals.
    • Support line managers in implementing HR policies and practices to drive strategic success, while developing tools that foster engagement and support the People Management vision.
    • Educate, coach, and partner with managers on performance management, employee development, and organisational growth, ensuring alignment with BSC’s strategic priorities.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to identify needs and shape tailored L&OD offerings that encourage continuous management learning and development.
    • Design and deliver a management development program, ensuring a seamless transition and integration with the People and Talent team.
    • Partner with managers to ensure alignment of policies, processes, and behaviours with BSC’s values, fostering positive cultural and organisational change.
    • Ensure that all people development programmes support our goals to improve equity, diversity and inclusion within BSC

    Experience

    Essential

    • Experience in partnering with managers and senior leaders on performance management and organizational growth and design
    • History of success in delivering management development programmes
    • Experience in process review and development

    Desirable

    • Involvement in or exposure to equity, diversity and inclusion work
    • An interest in social impact work or experience in the charity sector

  • Other terms

    • Location: We are a UK-based business with an office in the Old Street area of London, accessible to a number of public transport links. Given the requirements of the role, the working pattern covers Monday through to Friday onsite, during 9am-5.30pm.
